International Simulation and Gaming Association — ISAGA — is focused on the use of simulation and gaming, particularly from educational perspectives. ISAGA has organised an annual conference since 1970, making it the longest existing forum for academic discussion related to gaming. See:

International Game Developers Association — IGDA — is a non-profit organisation serving the game developer community. IGDA has local chapters that provide valuable contacts for those students who are aiming to direct their studies towards career in game industry. IGDA has several working groups who sometimes produce White Papers or other reports that are of interest also to game studies academics. See:

Digital Games Research Association – DiGRA is an international organisation bringing together academic researchers, teachers, students and other professionals focusing on digital games. DiGRA organises international conferences of game studies, has a mailing list, local chapter organisations around the world, and provides peer reviewed conference articles through an open access digital library.
